Computer Game Skills

I am a professional writer, educator, and game designer with years of experience in the computer game industry with numerous bestselling games to my credit.

For the original Quest for Glory one game, I was project manager in addition to my position as game designer and writer. I scheduled and worked directly with the artists and programmers to facilitate the release of the game on schedule. My job at Explorati put me in charge of the artists and designers in the development of a Improvisational Story-Driven MMG Environment.

I was the lead designer and writer for the Quest for Glory series and the Shannara game. They were a hybrid mixture of the puzzle-solving, story-driven Adventure game with the character development and visceral real-time combat of a Role-playing Game. Each game had a strong central theme and an over-arching plot revealed by the player's interaction with characters and events in the game.

Sample Game Proposal

Every game I designed was tightly scripted around puzzle-solving and interactions with the characters. My scripts included listings of necessary art and coding resources, puzzle and room descriptions, music and voice cues, and dialogue.

Script Excerpt

I wrote dialogue for the entire Quest for Glory Series, Mixed-up Fairy Tales, and Shannara computer games. These were character and dialogue-driven adventure games with an emphasis upon plot. Each game had over a thousand lines of dialogue to bring the characters and story to life. The puzzle-solving aspects of the game play centered around interaction with the characters.

Dialogue Samples

For the Quest for Glory games, I was responsible for writing a unique hint and play-style manual that reflected the theme and distinctive setting of each game in order to enhance the role-playing aspects. For the other games I designed, I created the more traditional user-information manual with technical, interface, and trouble-shooting information. I have also written hint books and Phone Hint Lines for games.

Website Design Skills

This site provides information about who we are and what we have done with our work and lives. I am responsible for all content and design for this website. All of the sites I create are coded with transitional XHTML and CSS.

This site is designed to create a global community of people who believe in the ideals of heroism and personal responsibility to create a positive change in the future of our World. While the tone and setting of the website is heroic fantasy, it is an online educational game founded with real world values and actions.
